This is a movie "Dandelion" filmed by Igor Hristov which has won several awards in Film Festivals. This was again a new experience to the Sri Lankan Deaf Community have it with Sri Lankan Sign Language.

Bill Holdsworth cinema critic in Epoch Times write criticism  for short film "Dandelion"

Keeping with the sunlight I would recommend Dandelion, a short Bulgarian-Macedonian film where we are introduced to Yozhe a deaf boy played with great reverence by young actor Kire Gjorevski. Yozhe and his deaf friends invent ways to communicate with hearing people. In the streets of Sofia dressed in overalls their antics especially those of Yozhe whilst bringing joy to some, it only upset others when their pranks bothered some policemen getting the crew into trouble with the head of their institution. Yozhe meets a girl and falls in love, but like their tour it was short-lived. Finding himself alone Yozhe realises that he has a gift to give to others whose lives are not so full. There were few in the audience of a grubby kino-hall belonging to some European agency, yet I applauded as I found myself with tears in my eyes. The camera work of Anton Ognjanov, especially with dancing stilts in the open countryside and throwing of a large orange ball like having the sun in our grasp gave an added poetic ingredient to the work of director Igor Hristov. Dandelion merits an award. With little dialogue the film should be seen across the world’s television screens. It’s a story for young and old to learn from.

Cinematographer, John Bailey, ASC, on Dandelion.

“This is a portrait of a deaf community that allows hearing people a window into the silent world. Though dramatic in intent, the film also incorporates poetic and dream like images that seem to float with camera style along a parallel universe. - a touching story.”John Bailey, ASC ,Kodak Film School
